Angel and Halfwit face eviction
Big Brother forced housemates to nominate live on air last night, and as a result, Angel and Halfwit will face eviction this Friday.

Due to Siavash playing the role of King Henry, he stopped Charlie from taking part in this week’s nominations, as well as giving Marcus immunity, despite originally hinting that he would give it to Halfwit / Feddie as he had been nominated every week so far.

Each housemate was given just 90 seconds to nominate two of their fellow housemates, with Angel and Freddie recieving the most votes.

Special live nominations show tonight
Big Brother housemates will be called to nominate who should be evicted in a special live show.

Host Davina McCall will broadcast directly from the studios to spring the surprise.

Following clips of housemates' highlights on Channel 4, Big Brother will announce to the house that each housemate will be called, one by one, into the diary room to give their nominations live on TV.

Each housemate will be given a strict amount of time to name the two housemates they wish to nominate.

Only nominations given within this time frame, with full and frank reasons, will count.

Housemates will be gathered on the sofas to hear the results of the nominations later.

The highlights will be shown from 9pm and the live nominations will air at 10.55pm.

The public vote will open at 10am on Thursday.

Siavash is King
Big Brother housemate Siavash has fit right into his role as King Henry VIII and ruler over his fellow housemates in a Tudor-themed task.

Big Brother ordered the most "blue-blooded" housemate to come to the diary room, and Siavash automatically took on the role of the former King of England and also chose parts for the rest of the house. He was forced to pick six wives, and eventually chose Angel, Freddie, Karly, Rodrigo, Sophie and Sree to dangle on his every whim.

Elsewhere, Kris and Charlie were chosen to be Courtiers and must rehearse a dance - the Volta - in time for tomorrow, whilst Noirin and Lisa became cooks, and Marcus was given the role of Village Idiot, where only himself, Siavash and the two cooks may enter the kitchen.

BB10 trio were Series 9 rejects
BB10 housemates Marcus Akin, Charlie Drummond and Rodrigo Lopes were all failures in last year's Big Brother auditions, it has emerged.

The trio even spent time in a mock-up BB house before filming started on BB9 to see if the potential housemates created the right chemistry.

However they didn't make the grade and instead returned to audition for this year's edition of the show.

A source told The Sun: "There was a real dearth of contestants this time. Bosses had hardly anyone to choose from."

Freddie favourite to win?
For the past 14 days, there's been one male housemate who hasn't strayed far from the top of the bookies' charts – but now he's had his crown swiped by none other than the man everyone wants out.

Rodrigo has now moved down to second place on odds of 6/1, and Halfwit has taken the top spot with odds of 4/1 to WIN the show. Not bad, considering he's been up for eviction twice now.

Ladbrokes spokesman Nick Weinberg explained, "Freddie has annoyed fellow housemates but he’s hitting all the right notes with punters." However, we must remember that this is Big Brother, and sometimes even the most unlikely people end up being evicted on the night. Do enough of you love Halfwit to the point where you'll vote out Cairon just to save him, or could it all go badly wrong on the night?

Strangely enough, Cairon is actually the least favourite to win the show now, and his odds have plummeted to 66/1. It's almost worth placing a bet, isn't it...? Make sure you watch the show tonight. As well as all the Ole Bamboo dancing, we have a sneaky suspicion you may even get to see a housemate totally naked. Surely that’s worth a look?

New housemate "entering next week"
Insiders have revealed that a new housemate will be brought in to Big Brother next week in a bid to boost falling ratings, says a report.

The source told The Sun that Big Brother bosses hope that the addition of a new housemate will give the reality TV show a boost.

It has also been claimed that they currently have ten more hopefuls who can be brought in to the Big Brother house "at a moment's notice".

A show source said: "We're thinking of how we can put someone in and shake things up."

The show has seen a massive slump in popularity and almost one million fewer fans have tuned in to watch this year's series.

It has even been reported that the show's original boss, Peter Bazalgette, has confessed that he no longer watches the show.

He told Evan Davis on the Today show on BBC Radio 4 that he does not have to comment on Big Brother anymore.

He said: "Do you know, since I left Endemol two years ago I have had this glorious holiday of never having to comment on Big Brother whatsoever.

Housemates dance themselves dizzy

Big Brother has set six housemates a challenge to test their stamina today, where they must become the 80s cult toy, "Dancing Daisies".

The housemates - Dogface, Karly, Noirin, Marcus, Rodrigo and Sree - must imitate the Dancing Daisies by dancing for as long as possible in flower pot costumes.

"It's safe to say that none of them are really good dancers," said Siavash unkindly as his housemates danced themselves dizzy.

"Rodrigo looks like he's part of a Brazilian band that's come over to crack England," laughed Kris as he watched Rodrigo gyrate around with an inflatable guitar.

"Do they have to use the instruments?" asked Cairon. As if dancing endlessly on the spot weren't enough.

"No, it's just the dancing," Siavash told him.

"They're gonna get bored of this," said Kris with a laugh.

"Well, see ya later," said Charlie with a sigh, "I'm bored of it already."

Sophia is evicted
Sophia has become the first official Big Brother housemate to be evicted.

The 26-year-old lost out to fellow nominee Freddie (aka Halfwit) in the public vote.

She received six nominations and was red-hot favourite to be evicted after her many outbursts.

During the week the housemates' shopping budget was cut as punishment for Sophia talking about nominations.

Sophia is the third person to leave the house after Beinazir Lasharie was evicted last Sunday and Saffia Corden walked out last night complaining that she missed her two children.

Sophia will leave at 10:35PM.

Channel 4 execs receive 'death threat'
A number of Channel 4 executives have received a death threat over the decision to axe the Big Brother live feed, it has been claimed.

The single mail was sent to over a dozen email addresses at the broadcaster, including generic addresses, various staff members and that of chief executive Andy Duncan.

The email reportedly read: "Bring back the live feed or I'll kill your daughter."

A Channel 4 spokesperson told The Sun: "Members of staff received a written threat from a member of the public. We have taken this threat seriously and the matter has been referred to the police."

Sree threatens to quit too
Less than 24 hours after Saffia sensationally walked out of the BB House, Sree has threatened to quit.

The news comes following a heated discussion between Sree and Cairon, which left Sree upset when Cairon told him that girls don't care about personality, just "big dicks". Sree then told Charlie he was planning to walk.

New eviction format revealed
Big Brother has said that evicted housemates will now be interrogated like never before when they leave the programme, in a new style of eviction interview.

According to show bosses, after Davina McCall gives the evictee their usual informal interview, she will be joined by two different guests each week to quiz the losing housemate.

The first will be an ex-housemate, celebrity, journalist or devoted BB fan, who will give a "rigid interrogation" to the evictee.

A second BB expert will then offer their own perspective on how the housemate did during their time on the programme.

After houseguest Beinazir was evicted on Day 4 and Saffia walked out yesterday, tonight's show will see the first eviction of a fully-fledged housemate on BB10.

Freddie (Halfwit) and Sophia have been nominated to face the public vote, with Sophia the bookies' favourite to go.

BREAKING NEWS: Saffia walks
It has been confirmed by Channel 4 that Saffia has quit the Big Brother House, after an argument with fellow housemate Sophia.

Saffia left through the Diary Room at around 8.20PM today.

She reportedly became upset when it was revealed that the House would be punished due to Marcus and Sophia discussing nominations - Sophia specifically stating that she would nominate Saffia for the rest of her time as a Housemate.

An argument then developed, causing Saffia to pack her bags and make a quick exit.

Saffia walking will not affect tomorrow's eviction.

It's nominations time
Nail-biting? Fretting? Suspicion? Whispering? Gossiping? Can you tell what's going on in the House? That's right – hurrah – it's nomination time! And the pressure's on as the housemates go to tell Big Brother their choices.

Out in the Garden with Lisa, Cairon managed to convince himself that he was on his way out. "I kinda know I'm up for nomination," he said with a long face. But Lisa didn't agree. "I've got an idea who's up for nomination and it's not you," Lisa told him. "I really don't think people are gonna pick you – I don't see no reason why."

Find out who's facing the chop tomorrow night as George reveals the nominations on BBLB at 6pm, Wednesday.

Kris discusses his fellow housemates
Kris made a visit to Diary Room today for a chat about his fellow housemates and not all commets were positive...

"There's a few people I don't get," he began. "It's a bit shallow to say, but if I bumped into them outside I would have avoided them like the plague."

"If I'd seen Teenwolf, whatsisname? Sia...Sha..let's call him S-man. Anyway, the one with all the outrageous gear," he said, referring to Siavash. "If a man came up to me with a hat with feathers on it, a necklace like body armour, shin pads and a mask with a big beak, if I'd seen someone like that I would have walked on the other side of the street."

"But it was good that he had all that stuff, everyone was in their element. And if Angel came down the street doing her hissing thing at me... I mean these are the people I came in here for really. The people you'd just think ‘nutjobs' about. Like Angel, she was sucking an egg last night. That's salmonella you can catch from that. A glass of milk and sucking an egg." Kris shuddered visibly.

"Imagine taking a bird out on a date and she says, ‘I'll just have an egg and a glass of milk'. It'd be a cheap date, I wouldn't mind it actually. But I wouldn't feel comfortable if she was sucking on an egg. So yeah, I would have avoided them lot but getting to know them they're actually quite funny. Not all there, but funny."

And once Big Brother got Kris going, he didn't want to shut up. "I've bonded with Charlie, Saffia and Lisa. Noirin, I thought she didn't like me, but then I got a massage out of her so I'm doing alright. Rodrigo is funny, love him to bits."

C4 drop phone-in charity donations
Channel 4 has dropped its charity donations for Big Brother phone votes, which were introduced in the wake of a series of phone-in scandals.

The charity donations, introduced in 2006, were part of a bid to diffuse the anger of customers after the broadcaster admitted that almost three million people had telephoned on premium rate numbers with no chance of winning.

Channel 4 was fined 1.5m by the media watchdog Ofcom for charging viewers who entered phone- in competitions on its popular daytime shows Richard & Judy and Deal or No Deal.

Telephone voting for evictions in Big Brother continued, but the charges only covered the cost of the calls and the broadcaster donated 10 pence to charity for every vote cast.

Last night it emerged that the broadcaster would be ending the practice saying it can no longer afford the donation.

Phone votes for the tenth series of Big Brother this summer will be charged at 35 pence from a landline. The eviction contests will continue to be overseen by the Electoral Reform Society.

A Channel 4 spokeswoman said: "The costs associated with running the Big Brother vote line have meant it has run at a considerable loss for the last couple of years. Given the current climate, after very careful consideration, Channel 4 has regretfully decided not to make charity donations for this series of Big Brother in order to limit this loss and ensure we are managing our finances optimally to continue delivering our public service remit."

Sophia talks about "The Clique"
Sophie (Dogface) and Sophia enjoyed a bit of girl-bonding yesterday afternoon, and with today's first round of nominations hanging heavy in the air, it wasn't long before the chat got round to that topic of discussion.

"I think it's going to be more than two people up," said Sophia. "And definitely me."

"It's just that clique. They dominate everything. They're so strong," said Sophia referring to Saffia, Charlie and Kris.

"I think they put on a bit of a show for the cameras. Pushing each other in the water. They're just acting up. They're not themselves," agreed Dogface.

"That's why when I talk to them, I separate each one of the clique, so it stops it being a clique. Saffia, is ok, we've sorted everything out, but I don't trust her. I'm not a hypocrite. She'll nominate me. Charlie has his funny moments. But he's definitely a camera man. Do people want to see genuine people or camera people? We don't know what the public is thinking but..." Sophia tailed off, thinking, presumably.

"I don't think he's being real. I think he pretends he's a bit thick," added Dogface.

"Of course he's smart. He's very smart," agreed Sophia. "Because him and Saffia stick together, I know what's going on in the Diary Room tomorrow. My name is coming out of both of their mouths tomorrow."

"Soph, I honestly think you won't be up. If anyone's up I think people will look at, and it's not fair as I like them, but Freddie. I've heard comments and seen the way people look at each other. It's a shame, I think he's so relaxing and funny. He's all about free love and happiness and fun."

Sree "annoying" the House?
Their first few days as bonafide housemates, and already the knives are out and it seems they're pointing at Indian business student Sree...

"He's just like an annoying little brother isn't he?" said Marcus as he talked about Sree with Angel, Lisa and Kris.

"It's like you get attached to him," said Kris, "and then it's like, I'd like to humour you but I haven't got a clue what you're on about."

Sree also upset Karly last night, when he criticised her skimpy Moulin Rouge outfit, leaving the glamour model in tears.

"Don't cry", he told her.

BB10 ratings disappoint
Early rating information has shown that viewership for Big Brother 10 is down on last year's show, with the first highlights show of the series attracting just 2.7 million.

Big Brother 9's first hightlights show brought over 4.1 million viewers, meaning a drop of nearly 2 million.

The first highlights show is typically one of the highest ratings of a series, so it may not be looking good for BB10...

Beinazir first evictee
Beinazir Lasharie became the first Big Brother contestant to be voted off this year's show last night.

The 28-year-old was booted out after failing to pass a series of tasks to earn housemate status.

Speaking to host Davina McCall after leaving, the Londoner described her experience in the house as "weird".

As a result of the vote, Marcus, Angel, Siavash, Sophia and Sree became fully fledged housemates.

Unlike usual evictions, there was no crowd waiting for the evictee and McCall conducted the exit interview inside a red double decker bus.

Asked why she was so quiet in the house when she had appeared outgoing on launch night, Lasharie replied that she had been hungry and tired but had perked up after a good sleep and a wash.

Cairon: Final full-housemate
Cairon has secured his place in the Big Brother house after winning today's biscuit dunking task.

All houseguests were to today given one last opportunity to gain full housemate status before tomorrow night's public vote.

Following this afternoon's 'Biscuit Dunk Off' - where all non-housemates were required to dunk a biscuit into a cup of tea for as long as possible without it deforming - Cairon emerged as the winner with the longest time, becoming an official housemate.

The Floridian student managed to keep his milk chocolate digestive in one piece for 25.5 seconds.

Siavash came a close second with 25.1 seconds, Angel managed 21.1 seconds and Sophia took fourth spot with 16.7 seconds.

Commenting on his victory, Cairon said: "It's all in the biscuit. I used a digestive. I eat digestives all day."

Elsewhere in the dunk off chart, Beinazir finished with 11 seconds, Marcus was timed at 8.3 seconds while Sree only managed 7.8 seconds.

As a result, Siavash, Angel, Sophia, Beinazir, Marcus and Sree will face the public vote.

Davina McCall will present a special live edition direct from the house tomorrow night on Channel 4 at 9pm.

Full-housemates: Sophie and Freddie

Sophie and Freddie are the latest members of the group to become housemates, after legally changing their names to Dogface (Sophie) and Halfwit (Freddie) by deed poll, in a challenge set by Big Brother.

"We've legally changed our names," trilled an excited Sophie as she emerged from the Diary Room.

"I've got a new name," added Freddie.

"I'm Dogface," said Sophie.

"And I'm Halfwit," announced Freddie.

So from now on Sophie and Freddie will officially be known as Dogface and Halfwit, scoring them housemate status and leaving 7 members of the group as non-housemates.

Three more recieve housemate status
Three more non-housemates have passed their "personal challenges" to become fully fledged BB10 housemates; joining Noirin, Rodrigo, Kris and Lisa.

Both Charlie and Saffia today bagged their housemate status, when an SAS team sent shock-waves through the House as they enforced an exercise routine on the gang and ordered Charlie and Saffia into the Garden for a Task – involving walking on broken glass.

"Remove your footwear," barked the big bad balaclava bloke. "Step forward one pace. In front of you lies 150 smashed wine bottles. This is real glass. Look forward, don't look down. This is real glass. It will cut you if you do not pay attention. Do you understand?"

"Yes," said Saffia nervously.

And the instructions followed. "Put your foot down on the glass. If it feels sharp, move your foot. It is not a race."

And to the utter amazement of all watching, they both completed the broken glass walk.

Next up was Scottish glamour model, Karly, who successfully completed the 'Ultimate Special Forces Challenge', which was to withstand 30 seconds of the challenge without saying the codeword 'Safeguard'. While she was laid on the ground, blindfolded, a motocross bike tyre was pushed into her chest while a bike revved next to her. The poor wee thing must have thought she was part of a circus act. But her bravery did win her Housemate status.

There are now 7 housemates and 9 non-housemates in the Big Brother house.

Lisa and Kris become housemates
Lisa and Kris have now joined Noirin and Rodrigo to recieve full housemate status, meaning they too will now avoid Sunday's eviction.

It was Lisa who earnt the pair their status, after she managed to pick up the red phone in the living area, before any other member of the group. Once she'd picked up the reciever, she was congratulated and asked to choose one housemate to join her as a full housemate, and she eventually chose Kris.

Looks like they got it easy!

BB10 launches
And we're off! Yes, BB10 is here, launching last night on Channel 4 and welcoming 16 NON-housemates, two of which later managed to achieve full housemate status in a "personal challenge" task.

The 16 non-housemates - including a former rock star, two glamour models and an Oxford University graduate who lives in a stately home, were shocked to discover their spartan living arrangements last night.

Instead of enjoying designer sofas and a glamorous lifestyle, they will spend their first days living in one room with only cold porridge to eat.

Within minutes of entering the house they were told they were not real housemates and they would have to earn their status to remain in the house. Those who fail or refuse a task will be left to the mercy of the public, who will decide if they should be granted housemate status.

On Sunday, any participants who have not been made into "proper" housemates will be met by host Davina McCall as they are booted out live from the house in the first eviction of the series. The wannabes were told to open a crate in the garden and change into the non-housemate uniform, which they must wear until they gain housemate status.

This year's entrants include 20-year-old Sophie Reade, from Cheshire, who has posed nude for Playboy and is a 30GG bra size. She was joined by Karly Ashworth, 21, from Fife, a part-time glamour model who dropped out of university after three weeks.

Only Rodrigo and Noirin are currently fully fledged housemates, after completing a task set by Big Brother, which involved Noirin shaving off her eyebrows and drawing on a pair of sunglasses and a moustache.

We'll have full housemate profiles on-line shortly, so stick with us xox

BB bosses: It could go on forever
Big Brother could go on forever, the show's top executive said last night. The contract for the show is up next year and it has been suggested that executives at Channel 4 will axe it because ratings have slipped.

Even presenter Davina McCall recently claimed the show was facing the axe, saying: "It's definitely got only two years left." Though Davina quickly back-tracked on the statement.

However, show chief Phil Edgar Jones said BB would carry on as long as it pulled in around three million viewers.

He added: "Everyone talks about it getting axed because ratings aren't as good as they used to be.

"But it is still one of Channel 4's best performing programmes and fans love it. We manage to make it different every year so it stays fresh. There's no reason why it can't go on forever."

A massive five million viewers used to tune in each summer to watch Big Brother, which began in 2000 and launches its 10th series tonight. But last year figures slumped to around two million on some nights.

Notice he didn't say it would definitely go on. BB10 is definitely looking more and more decisive to Big Brother's future.

Big Brother 10 Diary Room
The latest Big Brother diary room chair has been unveiled today, a matter of hours before Big Brother 10 is set to hit our screens.

The colourful armchair sits on a platform on the floor, surrounded by blue and green triangles that protude from the wall.

It doesn't look like there's much room for more than one housemate to take a seat on the diary room chair together this year.

SPOILER: No 'housemates' for launch
Big Brother producers have revealed that presenter Davina McCall will not be introducing official housemates in tonight's BB10 launch show.

Eight men and eight women will be presented to the public in the first show of the 10th anniversary series but these people may not become housemates.

All 16 will compete in a series of tasks in order to earn a place in the Big Brother house. The unsuccessful candidates will be evicted on Sunday.

The hopefuls will reportedly spend their first few days in the house living in one room with only cold porridge to eat, and will be forced to sleep on the floor of the living room. They will also have no access to the kitchen or the official bathroom.

Sharon Power, an executive producer on the show, said: "Everybody is expecting to walk into a normal Big Brother house with lots of rooms and furniture and places to go, and they will actually have this one living room and the garden."

"The first time they will realise something is up is when they walk in and find one room and a garden."

Once the successful housemates have been selected they will be given access to the rest of the house, with one bedroom for the boys and one bedroom for the girls.

The youngest person due to enter the house tonight is 18, while the oldest is aged 40.

No Irish vote for Big Brother 10
Big Brother fan-site bbspy have recieved information from a Channel 4 insider, that the Republic of Ireland will not be able to vote for Big Brother 10.

During last year's eviction vote between Belinda (Belinda, Belinda) vs Rex, a techinal vote developed, which meant Channel 4 discontinued voting from the Republic of Ireland for the remainder of the series.

These voting lines also remained closed for Celebrity Big Brother 2008.

A Channel 4 spokeswoman told bbspy: "Despite extensive work that was done to restore the Republic of Ireland vote, Channel 4 is still not confident that the issue will not occur again."

BB9 Winner Rachel hired for £500
Big Brother winner 9 Rachel Rice is touting herself out for just £500 an appearance. And other ex-BB stars are also accepting the same paltry fee.

On the eve of BB10, it will come as a grim reminder to this year's 18 housemates that the Goody-old days are over.

When the show launched in 2000, its contestants could rake in fortunes doing magazine shoots and PA work and the late Jade Goody, star of BB3, made millions.

But Welsh winner Rachel, 25, who pocketed £100,000 for her surprise win on last year's BB9, is asking just £500 - plus petrol - to host a BB-themed party.

Even the trainee teacher's agency, Flyin' Bird Entertainment, admits it is an "unbelievable price".

The same fee will get you BB7 lovebirds Grace Adams Short, 23, and Mikey Dalton, 26.

And also Seany O'Kane, 27, and Kara-Louise Horne, 24, from BB8.

In its promotional ad, the agency tells any prospective bookers: "Cash in on the Big Brother summer phenomenon at this credit-crunch fee."

Big Brother 10 starts tomorrow at 9pm on Channel 4.

Big Brother Official re-launches
With just over 24-hours until the launch of Big Brother 10, the official Big Brother website has been re-launched today to accompany the new series.

If we're honest the site is looking a little disappointing compared to recent years and it doesn't seem to be as functional either.

There's also a lot of Flash content, which may cause difficulty for some users.

Are you happy with the new site?

BB champs reunited

From left, Rachel Rice, Pete Bennett, Anthony Hutton, Craig Phillips, Cameron Stout, Brian Belo, Nadia Almada, Kate Lawlor, and Brian Dowling.

We officially love this picture! It's taken from Heat Magazine's new Big Brother Mini-Mag, on sale with the regular magazine today.

The picture features all the Big Brother winners from BB1 right through to last year's BB9.

The Big Brother special mag also reveals the winner of their "favourite Big Brother winner EVER" poll. The winner was... Brian Dowling, who reigned victorious with 29.5 per cent of the vote.

Quirky Tourette's sufferer Pete Bennett came in second place with 17.5 per cent, closely followed by Essex boy Brian Belo at 15 per cent. In last place, was Orkney Islander Cameron Stout - the supremely forgettable victor of series four.

"It's amazing to win, especially considering it was eight years ago. There have been so many colourful characters since then. Thank you to all who voted for me," Brian told Heat.

Remember the magazine is on sale today, go grab a copy xox

Michael McIntyre: BB is nonsense
Comic Michael McIntyre - who guest hosted last year's Big Mouth spin-off for a week - has savaged the reality show, days before the start of the tenth series.

The stand-up star, 32, confessed he "hated" fronting Big Mouth for a week last year. And he attacked the BB format as "terrible" and "dead".

Michael told The Sun's TV Biz: "I'm not a fan of Big Brother.

"I'm pleased I'm able to say that now, because last year I had a brief stint hosting the Big Brother's Big Mouth vehicle. I didn't like it at all, I hated it. I thought it was absolute nonsense."

"I think it's terrible, it really is. I think it's really dead that format now. I'd be surprised if they can resurrect it.""

Michael's outburst has reportedly infuriated bosses at Channel 4, where he often appears on panel shows like Chris Moyles' Quiz Night.

A C4 insider said: "He's entitled to his opinion - but he's certainly changed his tune from last year."

William Hill release betting odds
Big Brother 2009 Betting Odds have been released by bookmakers William Hill ahead of this week’s start to the summer reality TV marathon.

Male Winner Looks A Good Bet This Year
William Hill think the winner this year will be female, they offer 4/7 that a girl wins and 5/4 that the winner is male. Six Big Brothers have been won by men and just two by women (one transsexual winner too) so the 5/4 with William Hill for a male winner looks a very good price.

Will Big Brother Be Taken Off Air?
Big Brother often courts controversy and William Hill think there is a fair chance that it could be taken of air mid run. Every year there are rumours this will happen and you can get 6/1 with William Hill that it happens this year whilst it is 1/12 with William Hill that the show runs uninterrupted. Housemates misbehaviour could be one reason the show is axed and William Hill offer 7/2 that a housemate is evicted for bad behaviour and 1/6 that no housemates are thrown out.

Contestants To Walk Out This Year
The first 24 hours is always interesting in the Big Brother house and there have been cases where people have left right at the beginning because they simply cannot stand being in the house. You can get 7/1 with William Hill that a contestant walks out in the first 24 hours and 1/16 that no housemate walks out in the first day. William Hill can’t decide if a housemate will walk out or not in the entire series, it is 5/6 either way with William Hill that a contestant walks or not.

Up For Eviction
There are always some very unpopular housemates early on and William Hill think there is a good chance that one single housemate will receive over 90% of the eviction vote one week, that is 5/2 with William Hill.

Rumoured housemate: Karly Ashworth
The News of the World are reporting that Scottish glamour model Karly Ashworth is amoung the housemates entering the Big Brother 10 house this Thursday.

An insider has revealed: "She is a bit of a wild one" and "has a great personality. She's perfect for the show."

Curvy Karly, of Methilhill, Fife, has already had a taste of fame after coming 16th in last year's FHM High Street Honeys contest - out of nearly 14,000 hopefuls.

She won the spot after stripping down to nothing but a thong for a racy photoshoot in her back garden.

16 housemates will enter the house in running for the £100,000 Big Brother prize on June 4th.

Will enough eyes be on Big Brother?
The daddy of reality television, Big Brother, kicks off its 10th series on Thursday, but no one expects it to reach the heady ratings heights of its early years. The Endemol-produced show has been eclipsed recently by newer reality formats, such as The Apprentice, Britain's Got Talent and The X Factor.

While most long-running series have seen a steady decline in their ratings over time, those of many reality shows have been growing. The Apprentice has blossomed since it first launched on BBC2 back in February 2005, when it began with just 1.9 million viewers, rising to 3.6 million for its final two and a half months later. The second series finished on 5.9 million viewers, a 26% share - the channel's highest-rating show of the year.

In 2007 it transferred to BBC1, where its figures rose to 6.8 million. The 2008 series launched with a new record opening of 6.4 million, with the final attracting 8.9 million and a 36% share - its best ever figures. This year's show is again a record breaker, launching with 6.2 million and hitting a series high of 8.4 million and a 35% share a fortnight ago. The final, which is due to air on 7 June, is also expected to set a new record.

The two big autumn reality shows, The X Factor and Strictly Come Dancing, continue to prosper. While Strictly had the upper hand early on, The X Factor has slowly become more popular, overtaking it last year. A trial launch of Strictly in the summer of 2004 began with 4.6 million and rose to 9.3 million for Natasha Kaplinsky's win, with a second series quickly following in the autumn, culminating in 11.6 million viewers for Jill Halfpenny's victory. ITV's singing reality show launched with 4.9 million in 2004, building to 8.1 million for its final.

In 2005, 10.6 million tuned in for Strictly's final, compared with 9.3 million for Shayne Ward's X Factor victory, while a year later, 12.1 million watched the Strictly final with Leona Lewis's X Factor win drawing 10.4 million. In 2007, 12.1 million watched the Strictly final, against X Factor's 11.7 million for Leon Jackson's victory. Last year, the tables were turned, with Strictly launching with 8.5 million and ending with 12.2 million while The X Factor kicked off with 10.2 million - its highest opening - and ended with 13.2 million and a 53% share for Alexandra Burke's win - the most watched entertainment show on any channel since a Christmas Day edition of Only Fools and Horses in 2003.

Britain's Got Talent is the reality show that has recently achieved the ratings promise, with its current series - buoyed up by the success of Susan Boyle - hitting record figures. The first series in 2007 launched with 4.9 million, rising to 11 million and a 44% share for Paul Potts's victory. Last year, the final drew 13.1 million and a 55% share. This year's run is on track to break all records, launching with 10.3 million.

As summer succeeds spring, so in the annual reality TV cycle The Apprentice and Britain's Got Talent give way to Big Brother. The first two finals, won by Craig Phillips and Kate Lawler, were both watched by 9.4 million viewers (a 47% and 50% share respectively), but since then ratings have fallen steadily, and last year's final, won by Rachel Rice, pulled just 4.7 million and a 23% share, with a further 166,000 on Channel 4 +1.

So is the writing on the wall for Big Brother? Not yet, at least. The show's current contract expires next year and Davina McCall has said she thinks it should continue. C4 bosses see the show as their summer soap opera, but they will be watching the figures - and the critical reaction - closely.

More house pictures leak
A further five pictures of the new Big Brother 10 house leaked yesterday. These latest images show the entrance hall from a different angle - with a closer look at the "fly on the wall" - another look at the garden, including the bus-stop bench area, and a view of the living area, which is looking very empty except from a few wooden crates.

The crates go hand-in-hand with a rumour that this year housemates will have to assemble the furniture themselves.

Countdown: 5 Days to go
There's just five days to go now until BB10 hits screens, here's the 5 day countdown ad as aired on Channel 4 earlier today...

Grace Dent's 10 unsung BB heroes
Here's a list put together by regular BB critic Grace Dent for The Guardian newspaper, featuring the top 10 unsung heroes of Big Brother past. Grace is a journalist who you may recognise from her appearances on Big Brother's Little Brother during BB9...

Spiral (BB7)
Dublin-born Glen aka Spiral was a rapper, "craic" addict and 24-hour party monster.
Spiral spent Summer 2006 clad in a white McKenzie shell suit, rhyming "Big Brother" with "sensitive luvva", guzzling all the cider, then being a fractious, repetitive drunk. Ireland was verily proud.

Sada (BB1)
Slinky, posh, west London yummy-eco-Buddhist type Sada introduced yoga as a spectator sport to millions of bulgepanted male gawpers. Sada, or "Shaaaaadaa" as Craig the Scouser called her, was eventually turfed out following a ruck about tofu.

Mary (BB6)
"I like to talk deeply and be analytical," claimed white witch Mary, optimistically, before being incarcerated in a plywood prison with slackjawed clots such as Anthony the 70s dancer and white van man Maxwell. Mary was slung out after eight days. We'll have none of yer "thinking" here, love.

Billi (BB8)
Billi was a top model, a total woman magnet, a shrewd manipulator and a textbook lesson in delusional thinking. "I'm well Machiavel … Machovelp, erm, I'm proper good at plotting stuff!" mumbled silly Billi in the diary room, before being binned for being a dimwit.

Shahbaz (BB7)
Aggravating, unwatchable Glaswegian "eccentric" Shahbaz groped, screeched, stole and sobbed throughout five days in the house, culminating in the entire house sending him to Coventry, then throwing his stuff in the pool. Left of his own accord as the chances of him leaving feetfirst in a body bag grew.

Bonnie (BB7)
Kohl-eyed care worker from Loughborough, Bonnie's intro video showed an enfant terrible feral child vowing to "blaze it up" for 13 weeks, 'avvin it non-stop. Inside the house, Bonnie was utterly expressionless for nine days. Her "best bits" video included her looking for a lost sock.

Ahmed (BB5)
Somalian asylum seeker Ahmed had a lot of time locked up with British citizens to question whether he'd be happier dodging bullets in Mogadishu. He went berserk after seven weeks then staged a "military coup" which failed when the British housemates couldn't be arsed to revolt.

Shanessa (BB8)
"Do you swallow? I love swallowing!" cried latecomer Shanessa the Cardiff
stripper to her new friends as Brian Belo choked on his oven chips. Shanessa, who resembled Janice Battersby channelling Rick Parfitt, passed her time dispensing "erotic dances" to male housemates, ie: wobbling her scones in their faces while grunting lustfully.

Science (BB6)
Leeds-born musician "Citizen Science" frittered away 57 days in one endless, unfathomable argument with anyone in eyesight. The housemates thought he was "fucking annoying"; Science thought he was "being well provoked". Tory idiot Derek Laud said that when he interacted with Science he could "feel his own IQ literally decreasing".

Gos (BB4)
Kudos to Gos for being the most sloth-like housemate ever, spending 44 days splayed belly-up on a bean bag recounting Knight Rider plots with social whirlwind Cameron. Thanks to Gos, BB4 was so dull, producers never let normal people through the doors again. Everything wrong with TV today can be traced to Gos.

PS, 'Big Brother: A Decade in the Headlines' debuts tonight on e4 at 10:50PM. The documentary features Grace as she takes a look at the impact of ten years of Big Brother.

Former housemates make reality rich list
The late Jade Goody and Big Brother 1 winner Craig Phillips are amoung some of the biggest earning reality TV contestants, according to a list compiled by Current TV.

Jade Goody, who passed away earlier this year, found fame on series three of Big Brother and amassed a fortune of £8 million following her appearance on the show in 2004, after which she become the poster girl for reality TV.

Meanwhile BB1 winner Craig has brought in an estimated £5 million after sustaining his on-screen career, including his role on 60 Minute Makeover and appearances on Ant N Decs Saturday Night Takeaway.

1. Girls Aloud - £25m
2. Will Young - £12.5m
3. Leona Lewis - £10m
4. Jade Goody - £8m
5. Myleene Klass - £7.5m

Fan fury at axed live feed
Here's an article from the News of the World, who say they have been inundated with messages from Big Brother fans who are angry with the axing of the show's live feed. Article below...

FURIOUS readers have besieged the News of the World website with posts about Channel 4's decision to drop the 24-hour live feed from the Big Brother house.

This year's series will feature just seven hours of live feed a day, a drastic cut on the coverage viewers have been able to get in years gone by.

Big Brother 10 hasn't started yet, but already fans are furious with many planning to switch off in protest.

Fan Liz posted: "They are seriously pushing the 'true' fans of the show now. Who wants to watch a 'reality' show that tells you how to interpret everyone and every bloody thing???

"The highlight show is rubbish it isn't a true portrayal of the house or HM at all. Do they seriously not see what their doing??? It's strange that they seem to be killing the show themselves....."

Fellow BB fan, Classictabby added: "I will not be watching this years BB if there is no live feed! Everyone that I know who watches BB says the same. Channel 4 may as well scrap the show now as it just won't be the same without the live feed.

"Channel 4 are obviously trying to save money but this is a move that will backfire big time."

While IdaNyit posted: "C4 you're a disgrace!!!! You are taking away the very concept of Big Brother by axing the live feed.

"How are we supposed to get to know the housemates and vote for them from watching a highly edited 1 hour highlights show and a few hours at night when they will probably all be in bed asleep????

"As a huge BB fan since BB1 I usually look forward to big brother every year, not this year though, you've totally ruined it. I refused to watch CBB6 because of the lack of live feed and I shall do so again with BB10 if the live feed is not resumed!!!!".

House pictures leak
Three snaps of the new Big Brother house have leaked today, 7 days before BB10 kicks off, and what can we say? From what we've seen, the house is looking good! It's got a very futuristic feel with curves-a-plenty.

Entrance/Stair-way:
Pink panelling on the walls and huge pictures of insects included on the doors to the main house and diary room.

Living Area:
The curvy walls make it look a little like a spaceship. The living area is complete with a photograph of an insect (a flea?) on the wall and three wood crates for good measure.

Garden:
More curves and even a bus-stop bench. Red, white and blue theme.

Craig Phillips talks to Digital Spy
Big Brother 10 kicks off in exactly one week's time and throughout the new series, Digital Spy will be catching up with the housemates from yesteryear. Each week they will hook up with a Big Brother legend to chat about their experiences in the house and find out what they're up to now. First up is the winner of the original series, Liverpudlian builder Craig Phillips, who won over the nation with his cheeky humour and infamous confrontation with 'Nasty' Nick Bateman. We caught up with Craig to find out if he's a still a BB fan.

Since you won Big Brother you've done TV shows, released a pop single, starred in panto and done various charity events. What's been your highlight?
"The TV side of things is great fun. I'm honoured to be able to work on it. Since Big Brother, I've done more than 800 different TV shows. The stuff I did with the British Forces Broadcasting Services, which was filmed around the world with soldiers, stands outs for me from most makeover shows that I've done. That was more special."

Looking back at your time on Big Brother, what are your strongest memories?
"At the start, I was pretty quiet in the house. I had been so busy running my building company before going in that I viewed the show as a holiday. There was a brief high walking through the door, because I felt like a winner getting on the show. I only got told that I was going in the house six days before it started and I was aware 45,000 people applied for the show. When you get told that you are one of those ten people, I felt like a winner from the start. I was quite pleased with myself."

Do any events stick out in your head?
"I had lots of ups and downs in the house and you learn lots about yourself. There's not many people who have been in that social environment. To lose your wallet, your keys, your phone and have all your everyday responsibilities taken away from you, it's a really testing experience. Left alone, being put in there with people you wouldn't normally spend time with. We had ups and downs, I clashed with people. Obviously, there was the Nick Bateman scenario, but I feel like I actually missed out on that. All my friends and millions of the public have told me they were glued to the telly when it came on. Whatever feedback I get from the public, they say that was the turning point and won me their votes."

What was your personal highlight during your time in the house?
"Obviously the main highlight was being told that I had won. At the end I was at exploding point. I just wanted to get out of the house. I really needed to get out of that house. When I was told that I had won it felt fantastic for a moment, but then I got taken to the diary room and told I would have to wait an hour and a half for Davina. I thought 'God, I want out. I've already been here for 1,000 hours'. The house was a right mess by the end as well. My mum would have killed me if she'd seen it."

Do you think the show will come to an end at some point soon? Viewing figures seem to be heading downwards...
"I still watch the programme because I still do articles about the people in the house most years. Although people love to hate it and slag it off, I think the decline in viewers is overplayed. These days there are so many ways of watching the show. It's on 24 hours a day, there's all the spin-off shows, you can watch it on E4, E4+1 and online. I think if you put all those together, you'd realise that the viewing figures are pretty much the same as the early series."

You are releasing an autobiography this summer. Whose idea was that?
"I've been asked to do an autobiography on numerous occasions. When I first came out of the Big Brother house, they offered me the chance, but I said, 'Let's leave it until I've actually got more to talk about'. Then for the last nine years, I've struggled to find time to do it. But over the last six months on-and-off I've got down to it and it's taken up most of my time. After however many live performances, TV shows and weird and wonderful things, I've now got enough to talk about. The hardest thing was actually selecting things. But I've found the whole process quite therapeutic - to sit down and analyse what's happened to me since Big Brother."

You're also working on a new DIY project with askjeeves. What's that about?
"It's for a new DIY feature on their website. It's designed so when people have any questions they can go on askjeeves and find out the answers. I'm personally always getting lots of questions about DIY and this is a new way of giving out tips and shortcuts for beginners. Today, I've been doing video clips for the site and they should be up on the site soon. It's to help with really common basic stuff like hanging pictures on the wall, where people just need a guiding hand. It's stuff people can do at home and just need to be shown once."

Tina Malone criticises Big Brother
Tina Malone says she won't be watching Big Brother as she thinks the programme is "an absolute disgrace of society".

The actress, who plays Mimi in comedy drama Shameless, was a housemate in this year's Celebrity Big Brother, despite never having watched the programme.

"I wouldn't watch it with celebrities, let along people who want their 15 minutes of fame," said Tina.

The Shameless star admitted she is no fan of reality television and appeared on Celebrity Big Brother purely for the money.

She added she was saddened by a society that encouraged young people to desire fame and didn't have any admiration for those chosen as contestants.

"If you have something to show me, some sort of product or talent, great, but if you're going on to sleep with a man, a woman or a beast, to get your 15 minutes of fame, I think it's absolutely disgraceful," said the 46-year-old.

Meanwhile, filming of the seventh series of Shameless begins shortly, with tough matriarch Mimi getting a new look after Liverpudlian Tina lost five stone.

The actress admits doing Celebrity Big Brother has benefited her career and hinted at possible American projects saying: "I'm going to LA the end of Feb next year and we'll see what happens."

The first week schedules for BB10 have now been confirmed and a 100-minute special edition of the show will officially air on Sunday, June 7th, just days after the housemates make their arrival.

No interest for Davina's new talkshow
Broadcasters have shown little interest in a new daytime talkshow being developed by Big Brother presenter Davina McCall.

In an interview with the Times, McCall said that she was working on an Oprah Winfrey-style daytime chatshow which was aimed at Channel Five or Sky1 after admitting there was no room for it at her usual Channel 4 home.

"I'm not Oprah Winfrey, but [it will be] that kind of thing," she said, adding that it would have an online life and that she planned to film a pilot before the end of the year.

However, both Five and Sky1 have said it was not something they were currently considering.

A senior insider at Five said: "Would we really want to do a chatshow with Davina? She is a great talent but chatshow hostess, not."

A Sky1 source added the show was not something it was currently looking at, with the broadcaster instead considering quizzes in a bid to beef up its early evening slots.

McCall's previous stint as a chatshow host in 2005 ended in failure after her BBC1 series, Davina, received a kicking from critics and in the ratings.

Rumoured housemate: Vinnie
There's only ten days left until BB10 kicks off, and already rumours are rife as to who this year's brave housemates will be. One name and face who keeps cropping up on BB forums is "Vinnie", who is being described as "the perfect BB villain".

One blogger claims, "It is currently under discussion if he goes in on the launch night or half way through the series. BB bosses are scared he will be voted out too early if he goes in from launch night so may put him in later in the series. He was the only person to be picked to go into the house from YouTube auditions."

Now, we have no idea who this Vinnie character is, but he's already provoking a bad reaction online, with comments such as, "I hope he gets booed like no one before. If he wins then I'll never watch the programme again." Ooer! We spoke to BB sources about this mystery Vinnie and, predictably, they say he's definitely not a housemate. We love all this BB excitement! Are you feeling the buzz yet?

Davina on BB10 "It'll be really good"
Fresh from the Big Brother 10 press pack, here's the official pre-series interview from the Big Mutha herself, Davina...

Big Brother is coming up again. Does that mean you're pregnant?
Not pregnant this time! I think there must be a rumour every year now. My parents even called me up this year to ask me.

You're on TV a lot, particularly during the summer. Do your kids think everyone's mummy is on TV?
No, because they don't ever see me on the telly. Big Brother is on too late for them, and they're too young. They have been to Big Brother, but their best bit of that was going to see the special effects people at Elstree, where they met R2-D2, C-3P0, Darth Vader, Ewoks, the whole gamut. They couldn't care less about my job or Big Brother. But my daughter Holly was quite worried that I kissed Doctor Who on Comic Relief. I had to do a lot of explaining.

Speaking of offspring, your other baby, Big Brother, is ten years old this year. Can you believe it's been so long?
I don't think so, because it doesn't feel old. It always feels fresh to me. I spoke to the producer today, and he told me something that absolutely made me gasp. I love the fact that Big Brother can still make me gasp.

Even if we were to torture you, you wouldn't tell us what it was that made you gasp, would you?
Nope, of course not. It would ruin it, and you wouldn't like it as much if you knew what was coming. It wouldn't be as exciting.

You have an almost proprietorial attitude towards the show, don't you? It really means a lot to you.
Yeah. I've loved hosting it over the years. It's a bit like Claudia Winkleman belongs to It Takes Two or Simon Cowell and X-Factor. I think because I've watched every single episode of every single series of Big Brother. I feel intrinsically linked to it. And I'm really close to the people that work on it. A lot of the people have worked on every series. We're all mates, I love these people. That continuity is really nice. In my business, you often move from show to show and don't have a chance to strike up a relationship. So it's just the best jolly. And I don't think summer is summer without Big Brother.

What do you remember of the first ever night of transmission of Big Brother?
I remember the feeling of wondering if it was going to work. I knew I thought it was interesting, but I wondered if anyone else would think so. But what I thought was funny about the first series was that it got picked up as an interesting social experiment, and some of the broadsheets were covering it, saying it was a really interesting programme. Obviously it's not cool for them to do that any more. Sometimes they dip their toe in, but they take it out again pretty quickly. I just remember questioning whether people would get it – and they totally did.

Did you have any inkling that it would go on to become the major phenomenon that it has done?
No, you never know. I've done programmes that I thought were going to be great, and they didn't catch on, and then I've done programmes that I thought would do incredibly badly. God's Gift, for example – I know it was on in the middle of the night, but it had quite a cult following and I remember thinking "This is potentially the end of my career." But it worked. You never really know if something is going to work or not.

Pre-BB10 Interview: George Lamb
Big Brother's Little Brother presenter George Lamb has said Big Brother "is right back on track" and called the programme a "phenomenal beast" in his official Pre-BB10 interview...

Big Brother is ten years old this year. Have you always been a fan of the show?
I was a fan at the beginning, but I’ve not been a fan of anything for a full 10 years, to be honest! So I didn’t always watch every episode of every series, but it’s kind of omnipresent – you’re always aware of what’s going on, and the last few weeks can draw you in. It’s a phenomenal beast, really.

The show’s always evolving, isn’t it?
When it first started, it was more of a social experiment – that’s what it felt like – it was like watching research in a science lab, and watching the way people reacted. Then I think there was a point where people were going in with game plans and it all became a bit contrived. So I think the answer to that is that Big Brother has to up its game. There were a couple of years in the middle where maybe they didn’t know how to respond to the people coming in with game plans, but now they’ve figured out how to do that. Certainly the last few years, they’ve got it right back on track. When I came in last year, people were saying “Oh, Big Brother’s over,” and the production team certainly showed that it’s not over. They put it back on the map a bit. I think that was down to the tasks and the people they picked.

And of course it was down to the new presenter of BBLB, as well!
Yeah, that’s what a lot of people were saying, of course! No, I don’t think I had anything to do with the success of the show last year, but BBLB was a lot of fun and we had a nice time doing it. It was always going to be tough taking over from Dermot, it was definitely his show. As a presenter, I’ve found over the years that the longer you do a show the better it becomes. You have to get into the psyche of the people watching the show, and they don’t like anything that’s unfamiliar. But every time I get into a taxi now or I’m in a café or whatever, someone will say “I really enjoyed it. I wasn’t sure about you at the beginning, but I really like you now.” So I’m really looking forward to doing it again, for sure.

You mentioned Dermot. BBLB was his baby, for a long time. It must be quite a difficult balance for you to strike, wanting to put your own stamp on it, but also wanting to keep a sense of continuity.
I think the format dictates that continuity. Ultimately you have to come out all guns blazing and do it your way. There were two of us doing it when we started out last time, and we were always going to be finding our feet a little bit, but I certainly feel like in the latter part of the summer, and then during Celebrity Big Brother. I felt like I was on it, and I got it, and I knew it inside out. It’s that familiarity with the show and the format that allows you to feel comfortable and do whatever you want with it. You’re not going to try anything out of the ordinary at the beginning, because people are waiting for you to fall flat on your face.

BB10 Press Pack issued
The Big Brother 10 "Press Pack", a document issued to the media to give some background and scheduling information on the upcoming series, was issued today.

The pack has revealed the biggest change to BB10 is that Big Brother's Big Mouth will no longer air each night weekly, and will now been only be shown after the initial June 4th launch and on "eviction and final nights on E4 with Davina McCall." Therefore Jack Whitehall will not be the full-time presenter as previously thought and Davina will host Big Mouth for the entire BB10 series.

Elsewhere there's no big shocks. BBLB continues to feature Monday-Friday on e4, as well as the Sunday edition of the show will be shown on Channel 4, and it's been confirmed that Lucozade Energy will sponsor the show.

There's a few interesting facts and figures included too, we'll add them to the site later tonight!

BB cleared over Coolio by Ofcom
This year's Celebrity Big Brother did not breach broadcasting rules despite hundreds of complaints about rapper Coolio, Ofcom has ruled.

The majority of the 527 complaints related to the star's behaviour, with some accusing him of sexist bullying.

Some viewers felt Coolio was negatively stereotyped as an aggressive black man.

Ofcom said Coolio was the "villain of the piece" for many but that "such a role, after 10 years of Big Brother, is generally expected by the audience".

Ofcom said the series complied with the rules because "any potentially offensive content that was shown and the manner in which the friction and the arguments were handled and presented by Big Brother on behalf of Channel 4, were adequately justified by the context".

Coolio's treatment of former Liberty X singer Michelle Heaton drew criticism after he continually taunted her for allegedly having feelings for housemate Ben Adams.

Ofcom pointed out that Heaton and Coolio were talked to separately in the diary room and said the rapper appeared genuinely disconcerted when told that some of his behaviour could be seen as intimidating.

The pair later apologised to each other.

Channel 4 said it was pleased with the ruling.

"Conflicts can arise within the Big Brother house, but both the producers and commissioning editors encourage housemates to work differences out amongst themselves initially," it said in a statement.

"Channel 4 has robust procedures in place to safeguard housemates' welfare and avoid any harm or offence to fellow housemates or viewers, and Big Brother will intervene as and when necessary."

The ruling is in stark contrast to two years ago, when Ofcom found that Channel 4 was guilty of "serious editorial misjudgement" over its handling of the now infamous race row.

Ex housemate developing BB musical
Big Brother 2 housemate Stuart Hosking (not series 9 hunk Stuart Pilkington or Michelle's chicken "Stu" from BB5) is developing a Big Brother musical.

Stuart, who appeared in show in series two, will be watching this year's series to seek inspiration for the Big Brother musical he is developing, but he won't be looking for any future stars from past or future housemates.

"I would never have them on stage as the performing element because, with not too much disrespect to them, they are not talented for that. We actually want people that can sing and dance and perform," he said.

But Stuart said there might be some guest spots for former housemates in the musical.

When he was in the hosue, love blossomed between fellow housemates Helen Adams and Paul Clarke.

But the business consultant had blunt advice for this year's contestants, saying: "If you're looking for love, don't find it on national TV."

Stuart continued: "I think there is this huge expectation that once they've done something like Big Brother, they almost think there's an expected media career that comes out of it, and actually you have to work for it."

The married father of three hasn't ruled out future reality television appearances, saying he'd like to appear on Dancing On Ice if the money was right.

"If someone will pay you 50,000 quid for learning how to skate, then great - put me down for it," he enthused.

We doubt Dancing On Ice bosses will be offering Stuart £50,000 any time soon...

Davina the next Oprah Winfrey?
center

The Sun are reporting that Davina is set to give her chat show days another go, with a new show that will see her talking to "ordinary people" rather than celebs. Article follows below folks...

DAVINA McCall must have a career death wish — she’s making another chat show.

The Big Brother presenter, slammed for her BBC1 flop three years ago, is aiming to echo Oprah Winfrey’s successful style.

Last night she revealed her new show will be aimed at a daytime audience. It will focus on ordinary people rather than be celebrity-based like her 2006 turkey Davina. That show was pulled after ratings fell to two million.

The mum of three, 41, said of her new venture: “I’m not Oprah, but it’s that kind of thing.

“I prefer talking to ordinary people rather than famous people. Davina was crushing and the worst thing was the pity I got from people. I’m still fairly bruised. It was awful and I was glad to have Big Brother to come back to.”

Davina’s new programme will be filmed this year and will air on Five or Sky. She described it as a “multi-platform” show that will also have an “online life”.

George Lamb: I hope BB10 is "fun"
George Lamb has revealed that he wants Big Brother producers to focus on "fun" rather than tension this year.

The Big Brother's Little Brother host admitted that he likes contestants to enjoy their time in the house - because it fits in with the companion show's light-hearted approach.

"I hope it's as much fun as the last six or eight weeks of last summer were, and as fun as Celebrity was," Lamb explained. "I loved going into work and doing that stuff."

He added: "I hope everybody enjoys it, I hope it's not too contrived in the house, I hope everybody has fun. You can't really do much if they're not doing much. So more than anything I hope they're having a nice time in the house. If they're having a nice time, we're going to have a great time."

Lamb took over as presenter of Little Brother last year after Dermot O'Leary quit the show to concentrate on The X Factor.

Big Brother's Little Brother starts on E4 at 6pm on Friday, June 5.

Piers Morgan: BB celebrates talentless
Britain's Got Talent judge Piers Morgan has said that Britain's Got Talent is the opposite of Big Brother.

He told the Radio Times: "Big Brother is about celebrating the talentless. Britain's Got Talent is 100% about celebrating talent."

"It not only provokes genuine debate in a tough time for the country, it's put Britain back on the map as a producer of talent."

I think there was a fair amount of talentless-ness going on in BGT last night.

BB bosses ditch couple
The couple rumoured to be entering the Big Brother 10 house have been axed as housemates following their break-up, according to the Daily Star.

The newspaper reports that the two 18 year-olds, Melisa Nayah Minton and Daniel Lewis, were scrapped when they revealed their split to BB producers.

Melisa told the Daily Star: "We're gutt-ed. We thought we'd be up front with them and tell the truth. But all they’ve done is dropped us."

"I still think it would have been great TV to put us in the house even though we’ve broken up."

A rep for the show refused to either confirm or deny the story.

Jade's audition footage to be aired
Unseen footage of Jade Goody’s audition for Big Brother in 2002 is set to be made public as part of a tribute to the late star. Digital television channel E4 in the United Kingdom and Republic of Ireland will soon air the tape, showing Jade providing room for perhaps one last laugh.

“I don’t think before I speak. I thought Fats Domino was in the Mafia! I’m not stupid, though. I know what I mean,” the Daily star quoted her as saying in the clip. Jade lost her life aged 27 to cervical cancer in March and her tragic end touched the hearts of people all over the world. The show’s bosses had decided to pay an emotional tribute to the Brit reality TV star with a one-off show focusing on her life.

BB10 won't have fixed timeslot
New Channel 4 scheduling updates have revealed that the upcoming Big Brother 10 series is set to once again recieve an irregular weekly timeslot.

The schedules confirm that BB will air at 10:00PM on Tuesdays and Wednesdays, due to I’m Running Sainsbury's and Embarrassing Bodies occupying the nine o'clock timeslot; which is likely to be Big Brother's typical timeslot for the rest of the week.

Some fans are irritated that Big Brother isn't being provided with a fixed slot for the third year running and believe Channel 4 are risking ratings by airing BB so late in the night, which usually reduces viewership.

We'll keep you updated...

Davina: Big Brother should go on forever
Firmly quashing any rumours that Davina believes Big Brother is past its sell by date, the Big Brother host has revealed that her enthuasiam and love for the show is as strong as ever, in a fantastic interview with the Times Online.

Davina McCall: 'I want to present Big Brother until I'm very old'
by Sean Palfrey

Here’s how to annoy Davina McCall. Suggest that Big Brother, the tenth series of which starts on June 4, is in any way rubbish, past it, the root of the decline of Western civilisation. Then stand well back. “It isn’t. It’s great and I love it,” McCall says beadily, flexing her arms as if limbering up for a fight. “I know you’re a fan but you’re the first person this year I have had to defend the show to.” A deep breath. “That’s rubbish. It’s a fantastic show. At dinner parties, people come up to me and say: ‘You don’t really like it, do you?’ and I say ‘Yes I do, actually’. And naturally, they, and most of its critics, haven’t watched it.”

So despite the derision the show is held in in some quarters, despite all the criticism it has faced — most woundingly after the way producers handled the Shilpa Shetty race controversy in the celebrity version of the show in 2007 — its chief presenter is unapologetic in her support, despite recent reports that McCall was planning to quit the show the year after next when Channel 4’s contract with Endemol, which makes it, comes to an end. Commentators have speculated that the station might take the opportunity to pull the plug on Big Brother for good.

“It should go on for ever,” McCall, 41, says. She is smiling but the sentiment, if exaggerated, is genuine. “It’s a great basic format: lock up a group of strangers for the summer, isolate them, watch them interact, set them tasks, evict them. It’s soap opera, great entertainment. There’s no reason for it to end. Why should it end, as long as it attracts audiences and makes money for Channel 4?”

Credit crunched BB10 house
The Daily Mail and News of the World have both ran similar stories on the down-sizing of the BB10 house today, calling it the "credit crunch reality house". The articles were accompanied by the photographs we'd previously seen in Heat Magazine and in various newspapers last week. Read the Daily Mail's story below...

The new Big Brother house has been revealed - but any potential housemates might be disappointed with what they see.

The show appears to have been hit by the credit crunch, with a small poky garden, and austere metal smoking area.

There are no comfy seats, and only a tiny pool for housemates to cool off - despite the expected warm weather.

The accommodation is in direct contrast to last year - when housemates enjoyed the biggest house yet.

The new housemates will arrive to enjoy the smaller lawn next month - as series 10 begins.

This year auditions in seven cities saw a record number of applicants, and there were also online applications posted on an official channel created on YouTube.

Tens of thousands applied in the hope of following in the footsteps of past contestants, some of whom have converted their 15 minutes of fame into a career.

The programme - which began in 2000 - has spawned the likes of Jade Goody and Kate Lawler, as well as short-lived moments of fame for numerous wannabes.

Craig Phillips: Bring back BB housemates
BB1 winner Craig has been talking to Metro about the long-discussed BB fan idea of an "ultimate Big Brother", consisting of favourite housemates from Big Brother past. He also says the format is "exhausted" *sigh*...

Craig Phillips, winner of the first series of Big Brother, believes there should be a show to find the 'ultimate Big Brother winner.'

The 37-year-old said: "Speaking to some of the other housemates, I think they would do it - I would do it but only for a week or two, not for a long time."

He thinks Big Brother is running out of ideas, and the coming series could be the last regular season, saying: "I personally think it's been exhausted, they're trying all these different angles and I don't really know what direction they can go in."

C4 begin BB Eye Teasers
Remember last year when Channel 4 ran teasers featuring shattered pieces of the Big Brother 9 eye logo before the series kicked off?

Well, Inside Big Brother are reporting that Channel 4 aired three similar ones today for BB10, which showed an abstract 3D eye; not the logo which we've previously seen. The adverts were no more than a few seconds long each and aired around 1:30PM.

You can kind of make the eye out... Kind of! Expect longer versions of the teasers to hit screens soon.

Channel 4 slash Big Brother budget?
Big Brother returns on Channel 4 (UK) soon for a tenth series, however End Of Show can report the show budget has been slashed, resulting in viewer-affecting changes.

Changes include Channel 4 closing its Big Brother online forum (which cost “several hundred thousand pounds a year to run”), the complete removal of its live feed/streaming service which means viewers can no longer watch the house at any time, and limited coverage on E4. Sources tell us the overnight house feed will be limited from 11.30pm until 6am.

Big Brother averaged 4.5m viewers for its first series in 2000. The last series averaged just 3.6m - setting a series low.

Tabloids may not like the changes, as previously the live feed had been used to break many stories about house antics which never made the highlight shows.
